About Nico
At the age of 19, Nico chose a life in the military. His goal was to become a commando, and at the age of 20, he completed the grueling commando training.
His career began with the Dutch Special Forces, where he served for three years with the Korps Commandotroepen. After leaving the Special Forces, he attended the Fire Academy to become a fire officer. A brief stint with the police led him to work for three years with a tactical arrest team. Eventually, he returned to the fire service and spent several years on the island of Sint Maarten as the Head of Fire Services. There, he experienced numerous intense incidents, with Hurricane Irma standing out as a major event.
